The Sino-European Laboratory in Computer Science, Automation and Applied Mathematics, LIAMA, is a research hub, hosted by CASIA, the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Created by INRIA and CAS in January 1997, LIAMA conducts research, training and transfer projects in Computer Science, Automation and Applied Mathematics. Each research project of LIAMA is a cooperation between European and Chinese researchers, and is hosted by a partner institution in China.
Since 1997, LIAMA has being a pioneer and been playing an important role in the international cooperation between China and Europe. During our 20 years of collaboration, more than 500 scientists and researchers were involved in academic exchanges and more than 13 projects were granted. All of these have made LIAMA not only a scientific research base, but also a bridge connecting China and Europe.
In June 2008, LIAMA was selected by the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology as a “National Center for International Research” to reinforce the cooperation potential in the fields of ICT.
This year - 2017 is a special one for LIAMA, which marks the 20th anniversary of LIAMA. Together with Founding Members, CASIA, CWI and Inria, we are organizing a celebration to commemorate this special occasion, to be held on July 11th and 12th at CASIA, No. 95 Zhongguancun East Road, Haidian District, Beijing China, and that will allow us to gather on this joyful common purpose.
