  As one of the oldest International Computer Graphics conferences in the world, Computer Graphics International (CGI) has been a major conference in the area. It will be held in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on June 12-15, 2011. Computer Assisted Artistic Animation (CAAA 2011) is one workshop of Computer Graphics International (CGI) 2011. It will be held in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada June 12th, 2011.

  The purpose of this international workshop CAAA2011 is to promote the development of artistic animation in the field of computer application. Any new findings relating to computer assisted rendering, arts, animation, modeling etc are encouraged for presentation at this workshop.

Topics:

  We are seeking regular full papers, short papers, and posters for CAAA2011 with the following topics, but which are not limited to:
  • 2D and 3D stylized rendering & Illusions
  • GPU based rendering
  • Image based rendering
  • Lighting & material design and data acquisition
  • Model parameterization for UV expansion
  • Model deformation and character animation
  • Sketch/Image based modeling & animation
  • Image /Video Art style edit and transfer
  • Automatic coloring and lighting design
  • Motion capture and synthesis
  • Animation compression and transmission
  • Inbetweening
  • Augmented reality and computer vision for creation
  • Simulation of artistic media
  • Multimedia and digital media; Art design and display in mobile/internet environments
  • Other techniques of image/video/model processing for art creation

Papers describing research showing violent scenes or inappropriate content will not be considered.

Important dates:

  • Submission deadline: March 20 March 27
  • Notification of acceptance: April 18
  • Camera-ready papers deadline: April 30

Paper Publication:

  All accepted papers, about 20 ~30 of them, will be published, and at the time of the conference, there will be a day for workshop authors to make oral-presentation of their papers.


 
All accepted papers will be put into the Proceedings of CGI's paper which has a formal ISBN number.
